This is Angela, my wife.

We have been married for.

How many years now?

nine years?

Yeah, almost ten.

We kind of met through music, mutual friends and talking about music, and then we realized we liked each other.

He was actually in Spokane at the time and I was in North Carolina, so we actually had a long distance, very long distance relationship.

We moved up here in 2013.

We started Mountains in the Sea in 2018 to kind of do some of our like electro pop beats with like the blues guitar.

So yeah, we've been playing music together pretty much since we met.

Yeah, it's been a big part of our story.

This next song is one that we wrote while we were out traveling around the country in this last year here, and this was place in Oregon where it was just crazy, windy the entire time.

Yeah, it was right on the Oregon coast, a place called Cape Blanco, and we were pretty much stuck inside because it was cold and dark and wet.

And so we wrote this song and it was fun.

This one's called the Cape Blanco.

But most of the time, it's just me messing around with, like our looper.

Usually I add the melody and the lyrics, and that's how most of our songs are written.

Sometimes it's different, but we like kind of playing off of each other because I feel like we get different influences on the songs and it kind of melds in a different way.

This is a song we actually put out on our album last year, and it's just kind of about just getting away from some of the heaviness of the world and spending time with the ones you love and just the peace that comes along with that.

And so I'm able to, with producing put our sounds that I produce from logic was what I produce on and take those sounds, put them in our drum pad and then I'm able to build our song up with the drums and the bass.

And she's playing bass on keyboard a lot of times and then so we layer as we go.

We wrote this as a kind of a song challenge with a songwriting group.

And yeah, it was pretty fun.

So the challenge was to write a song with the words Go, or let's go in it.

And so we wanted to make a song with like a bunch of layers because we like layering loops and stuff.

So ended up like putting a ton of layers on this one, making it really dancy.

And it was really fun because earlier this year it actually got placed in a Hyundai ad, so that was pretty cool.

So the song is actually called I'll Keep Running.

But I wanted that realism in there.

So he samples a lot of sounds from like nature and stuff and throws them in our songs.

Our song Cape Blanco has like songs from the actual from being on the beach, like the Wind and like our daughter talking in the background and stuff.

So it's kind of fun.

It gives a little bit of life to the song.

Yeah, you know, it's nice to have a little bit of realism and stuff in your music, you know?
